                  Few of Trishul Projects

                  Trishul Women Empowerment Program

At Trishul Women Empowerment Program (TWEP), our aim is to support economically less-privileged women from rural areas and urban slums as well as revive traditional art and handicrafts by training and encouraging budding artisans through our skill development programs.
At TWEP, we conduct free skill development workshops on hand embroidery, painting methods such as Madhubani and Warli, basic stitching, and creating home decors, handcrafted jewelry, bags, hand-painted greeting cards, and so on.

Livelihood generation program at TWEP:Sales proceeds of our carefully crafted products ensure a steady source of income for the women involved. As Trishul extends the training and support to more and more women, we hope to better the lives of multitudes of families, as empowering a woman means empowering a family.

At TWEP, we also conduct periodic health check-up; mentoring and counselling sessions, yoga, and similar supportive activities. We are also planning to start a daily nutrition program at TWEP and TLC to tackle urban malnutrition, a much-ignored malady.

                  Trishul Learning Center

Our objective at Trishul Learning Centre (TLC) is to help children from economically weaker communities in rural areas and urban slums build a strong educational foundation, develop self-esteem, and assimilate  values, which will help them maximise their potential and become economically independent and responsible citizens.

At Trishul, we believe education and life skills development are primary stepping stones for children from less-privileged communities to enter the mainstream economy and lead a better-quality life.
At TLC, we provide free learning facility to children, focusing on Math, Science, and English. We blend our coaching with activity-based learning, project work, field trips, arts, crafts, sports and unstructured play to facilitate holistic development of the children. Expert counselling and mentoring sessions on career and personality development are also conducted by visiting faculty.

TLC - Safe Environment to Play for Children

Play is what  children and young  people do when  they follow their  own ideas and  interests, in their  own way and for  their own reasons
play encompasses children's behaviour which is freely chosenpersonally directed and intrinsically motivated. It is performed for no external goal or reward, and is a fundamental and integral part of healthy development - not only for individual children, but also for the society in which they live.
(Video spontaneous  dance sessions in play time totally initiated and managed by children).

Freely chosen means that children themselves choose when, how and what to play. As such it is not part of a set programme and does not have any steps that need to be completed.
Personally directed means children themselves decide the rules and roles they take within their play.
Intrinsically motivated means that play is undertaken for its own sake, and not performed for any reward, certificate or status.

                  Why Promote Unstructured Play?
                  Children have to play
                  It’s a biological need…..like eating
Unstructured play allows children to do the things it’s body is telling it to do. Run, jump, climb, scream, swing, explore, enquire, be creative.
Without unstructured play, how can children learn to make decisions and take risks?

                  Benefits of Unstructured Play.
Helps children develop, socially, emotionally, physically, cognitively and creatively.
Allows children to make independent decisions.
                  Children learn to manage risk.
Science has linked lack of play with behaviourial and emotional problems.
                  Play underpins learning.

It has been shown that children do better if they spend time in a natural environment

'The right to play is the child's first claim on the community. Play is nature's training for life. No community can infringe that right without doing enduring harm to the minds and bodies of its citizens.'
